I can say with certainty the women's game would be in a much better place than it is today , had it not been banned for 50 years .. there's nothing wrong with that statement .

Add to the social norms being different, what you grew up with , women's football would have been a bigger more socially accepted thing 37 years ago and would have been going for well over 60 years .. society would view it differently with changing attitudes much earlier on .. much like women's tennis

I have two girls here with dreams of playing professional football , one is very talented and I've got bellends on social media hell bent on putting their passion down.. because they are women

If your daughter is good enough she will get spotted regardless of whether Coventry United ladies exist or not. Any half decent Cov based player will quickly be snapped up by Villa or Blues as it is, as they are much higher up the ladder in ladies football. As pointed out by others I can't see a scenario where the junior set up does not continue either, as I would expect that to be largely self funding (I presume your daughters pay subs) by those involved in the various age group teams. Having a professional ladies team though is plainly going to be a money loser so I'm not sure what you are expecting. Ladies football is effectively a different sport to the men's game and attract different support bases the same way as CRFC do or Cov Blaze do, albeit there will obviously be a minority that crossover and support both. The majority of our supporters are therefore unlikely to support our club financially keeping another club afloat when our own financial status is not that good in the first place.

I don't disagree, it's still a nice thing to currently have a natural progression into women's professional football .. in the same way Jordan Shipley got to play for Coventry city but wasn't good enough to play for villa , the ladder for him was there into professional football .. albeit at a lower level

If they were under any other banner, sphinx, copsewood I’d go along with that - but I’m not bothered about United. They can take the relegation… rebuild and get promotion but I won’t support them
