Updated with the Mansfield result (didn't make the minor adjustments to team's league positions yet):

Interesting comments albeit slightly bias. Says the Doyle first half penalty was a slip, gives a good insight into how teams feel coming to the Ricoh, felt sorry for Burge as the ball moved in two directions and doesn't think we created a chance all game.

Oh, so Grendel's 'stonewall' penalty wasn't a penalty at all then as many of us said. The player himself has now said he slipped. Ref bang on with that decision and from the replay you can clearly see Doyle pulling out of the challenge.

your disagreeing with a league table ?

The notion you can stick a league table and merely extrapolate it for the whole season is absurd. It means no teams below would extract more points per game then they are now. History shows teams do - Exeter were near the bottom and ended up in the play offs.

It was a clear penalty contact was made by Doyle who charged at him and made contact. The laws of the game are clear.

The lad himself said he slipped. The player says it wasn't a penalty. You arguing with the player himself at the centre of the incident?

Okey dokey.

Let's leave it there then eh.

Geoff Hurst's shot did go over the line against Germany - time to end all of this. Be glad when the Lincoln game is under way!

Wasn’t he the player already booked for simulation during the game?

The one on Hemmings looked more blatant at the time in the 2nd half, haven't seen that back though.

Nope. Same player, but he got booked after. Slip incident in the first half, simulation was in the second.

Yes I mean he’s been booked for simulation during the game. As the referee saw fit not to give a penalty I would suggest he’s not really going to want too much attention on the incident - wouldn’t you?

so, Exeter maintained their form when near the bottom of the table and yet ended up in the play offs ? that's absurd !

As you can get done for diving after the game now like the player did before.

Would be interesting to know if you could if you had been booked in a different time in the game for it.

My immediate reaction to that late one was Penalty. Looked like a clumsy trip and a 2nd yellow for McDonald.

No - you are saying if we maintain our form we will end up in the play offs - that assumes no club below us will improve.

McNulty, Nazon and Ponticelli for starters. :)

Ponti and the Duck the jury is still out on.
Ponti is only just getting his chance.
The Duck looks like he can put the ball in the back of net. The only question is if he can do it consistently.
McNulty is not ruthless. He is a good player at this level but not a ruthless finisher.

I'm pretty sure I'm asking you about the chances that happened arent I?

You keep saying there are loads, name them.

I actually quoted Mark Robins response after the match. (He saw the match as well)
The chances are spoken about on here and in the match report. You also went to the game (Which gives you a superior opinion,)
So I assume you saw the chances?

So you aren't going to list them all then? You keep banging on the same about how there are so many but never seem to want to discuss them.

It's funny how we seem to have more chances and goals when The Duck is playing. You seem not to realize that many goals are created by strikers themselves. It's relatively rare for goals to be scored on a plate, which it seems how you define a "chance". I am sure if you look back at the goals we have scored this season, you would not have classed them as "good chances" if they had not actually gone in the net.

How about the Mansfield goal yesterday? Would you have called that a chance if it had missed or been saved? No, I don't think so.

Well said that man!!!!

Robins said we were unlucky to lose -we we weren’t and we created very little after the first 15 minutes.

It was when he went mental at the ref and got booked.
That was the second one wasn't it? Getting confused now.

First one is where the ref said no pen, Doyle stepped out of the challenge and the player says he slipped.

Second one was in the second half and he got booked for simulation. I did think that was a pen.

Third one I didn't see.

So you talking about the second one?

No, it was a different one with the other striker. He got booked just after for shouting at the ref.
