Yes you are right - but you had people from Jewish groups speaking out like they did. They wouldn’t even listen to people of their own community....
I saw an interview with a jewish author who was calling the jewish Corbyn supporter a self hating jew on tv.

That is antisemitic

Point proven
If shed been in Corbyns cabinet you'd have heard about her praising Nancy Astor (rabid anti Semite) in a speech.

Absolutely no two ways about it.

Come on. Praising the first woman in parliament who happened to be an antisemite at a time where most people were anti semites isn’t quite the same as sharing a platform with them or otherwise hanging about. Or sharing anti Jew conspiracy stuff.

There absolutely has been people making the most of tiny stuff, but there’s also been a problem with some one the far left and Corbyn himself.

Because it's been weaponised.
And I don't agree that Jewish people do.
Some parts of the Jewish community do for sure. But the Jewish community isn't one entity with one opinion.
Johnson cosied up to the biggest antisemite leader in Europe, who incidentally has just gone full facist, and no one gave a fuck.
I can't agree or disagree with anything.

Recently I had what ended up being a few hours to spare at work. I followed a link from a news website. Ended up knowing less on the subject than when I started.

At least I haven't had a go at Starmer on the subject ;)

Are you still working Tommo?

Still working mate. Weeks ago they said about giving the fleet a box of gloves and some sanitiser each, which almost sounds like a lonely night in.

Last week they asked for 6 (out of 15 of us) volunteers to take a minimum of 3 weeks furlough. I thought about everyone I know already taking furlough or working from home, and how most of them are losing the will. My mrs in particular - she’s quite stressed about it, says she can’t separate work from home, I understand that. We say me going to work is the closest thing we have to normal at the moment, so I told them no. They said if they don’t get the volunteers then it’ll go down to performance on some scoring system they have. As far as I’m aware I’m their 5th best so I wouldn’t be forced either. Even so, I can’t see things picking up for a few more weeks yet, maybe they’ll even rotate it.

That's fair comment about Reeves but no way that would have been accepted if she'd been in Corbyns cabinet. Not a chance

Only the 5th best? Pull your finger out ;)

I do have a question, are we allowed to find another job while being on furlough? My employers are saying no but I know of other companies that are allowing staff to work elsewhere.

I just wish I could get down to the truth. The subject is full of opinions. And most contradicted each other. Even worse when you include other religions.

I ended up feeling sorry for a faction. Then you would feel sorry for the latest faction. And it went on until I was back where I started.

I ended up wishing I had stayed bored at work.

Its up to your employer to say yes or no,I’ve checked this out on Gov.uk

Don't get me wrong. There is an issue with some people on the left.
I've often heard people make a legitimate criticism of Israel and follow it up with a trope or some global conspiracy bollocks
This is where there needs to be education to stop ignorance. There are anti-semitic tropes ingrained into our society through popular culture - people need to know what these are and why they are wrong.

As you said in an earlier post - it has to be called out CONSITENTLY
Rachel Reeves’ love in for an anti-Semite - unchallenged
George Osbourne’s anti-semitic trope in a Standard cartoon this week - unchallenged

Because it isn’t consistent it lends even more weight to the alterior motives behind it.

You are always free to find another job. But your contract as well as lockdown will say when you can start it.

Is it worse than ignorantly liking a mural on Facebook? Because that’s where it all began for Corbyn.

I know. Reminded me of parents evening. Could do better. Challenge accepted though. If driving Miss Daisy gets me to the top then so be it. Easy enough while the roads are dead. I tell myself to take it easy every morning, an hour later I’m driving like a dickhead again.

Even with the nhs stuff. My country has lost its collective mind
Give it a chance. Corbyn has only been gone a few days. Millions will have missed the news because of the virus and Boris being ill taking over all the news.

I got the leader I wanted. Just hope he doesn't let us down now.

for those interested, here’s a comparison between U.K. and a country that started with the same underfunded health system and paucity of facilities- the thread shows pretty clearly the differences

she’s dead right about the media- in the U.K. we have a lethal blend of second rate politicians and a piss poor media, that’s a dangerous combination

I saw that earlier.

It's as clear as day that our response was too little too late.

Most of us said this at the time but many were happy to defend it 'cos Tories.

Come off it the Jewish community in the main are far more concerned about labour as it has many many people who are they think threaten Israel and are opposed to it. Reeves will have her day in the dock when it suits have no doubt about that

Just add it to the list

Windrush
Grenfell
Universal Credit
COVID19

but they know how to win elections so that has to say something about the opposition as well, not sure it should be that difficult to evict people that inflict death & suffering on their own people from number 10

The Jewish community has many people who are opposed to Israel foreign policy!

Israel has at least one sect of Jews who are actually opposed to Israel. The Jewish community is full of diverse opinion just like any other.
I doubt Reeves will have her day. Antisemitism will not get anywhere near the attention it has done any more.

Spot on.
David Miliband, hooked nose, eating a bacon sandwich - not a peep from the people who have been banging on about antisemitism for the last couple of years.

They never said anything when he was subjected to it as leader either

Why don't you have a read and tell me.

I don't expect you to agree with it because you were one of the main advocates of herd immunity on here, not necessarily because you believed it would save lives, but because Johnson and Cummings told you to believe it.

that is a common theme on the right

Sun journalist again - I didn’t and not did the government

It’s measuring ICU beds against the population which is odd isn’t it

In the interest of clarity and fair play ‘there are six other Countries Named on that graph

And one day you might be able to admit that the left has the same problem.

I’m not sure how this isn’t sinking in so I’ll say it just one more time. I’m not Labour or ‘left’, I have slated both sides on this very thread. I believe the exact words were “you’re all as fucking bad as each other”.

but “the right” are quite some way ahead in the body count stakes, so that’s where the questions need to be focussed.
