You think the government announcing a press conference at 4 then pushing it back to 5 and then saying nothing before 6 and then maybe not tonight. What do you think is happening? Do you not think there are conversations happening? Why the delay? It’s quite interesting but it’s also bizarre

Well no I don’t care and other than a handful who post their daily tripe on here no one in this forum does either

Didn't Johnson get a bollocking last time for announcing things through the media and press conferences before going to parliament? Wonder if the delay is to do with that?

The media are reporting the cabinet meeting took place this morning and most of them seem to know the contents of the upcoming announcement so why the delay?

Bet they've got the news on and are changing the policy according to what the pundits say

have we got to the stage where the cmo and cso are telling the government they can't back what they'll say?

Government playing catch up after initial leak yesterday and bit of panic with keep putting announcement back; trying to appease so many of his ‘friends’ and clearly at the minute they aren’t playing ball.

Did LK just say that Boris resisted pressure from treasury to lockdown rather than tiered approach .
That doesn't sound right but that's the way it came across.

Other way round, treasury didn't want lockdown.

Lazy and inaccurate stereotyping

Fully accurate Boris told jokes and a pack of lies and the cap doffers fell in line. It's the Conservatives' purpose to con people into voting against their own self interest so their mates can accumulate privilege and influence. The Republicans do the same in the US and there are American versions of you who argue against things that are objectively better and more popular when partisan affiliation is removed

I think it’s pretty clear that Cummings and Gove are undermining Boris. Cummings is really Goves man and I don’t think Boris in the top job was ever part of their plan. Hence the continued leaks, witnessed again today. We’ll just be changing the clown, Cummings is the ring master.

Gove is dreaming, he's probably the most disliked of them all
