Been numerous enquiries into this this being the the first fully independent one and it sounds like every t has been crossed and every i dotted by everyone from lawyers in various specialist fields and the Met themselves. There has been a trial but it collapsed and one of the people in that trial was employed by the News of the World (amongst other newspapers) has since been jailed over phone tapping I believe, is connected to Andy Coulson etc etc. It sounds like this has more to do with government connections to certain media companies and the government has pulled numerous tricks to delay the publication (including using Prince Phillips death as an excuse) before this latest effort.

I've now become so cynical my take is that the infrastructure needs massive investment, so bring it back under public control, get the work done on the public purse and then flog it back to the private sector all shiny and new at a fraction of the price it cost.

Nationalise the costs. Privatise the profits.

The Conservatives have completely outflanked Labour on even the economy. Nationalisation of the rails was a popular policy even among Tory voters and members!

There is definitely an attitude in this country of not wanting free stuff for yourself because you don't want other people to have free stuff.

People put a priority on making sure others don't get free stuff, even at the expense of themselves getting it.
