Found a piece of skull apparently.
Israeli airstrike hits a refugee camp in Gaza. Reports of dozens killed. Israel says the strike killed a senior Hamas commander.
Will leave the arguments about whether it's justified to others. Personally I don't know how long Israel can keep going down this path without losing international support.

It refers to the river Jordan which unsurprisingly runs on the border between Israel and Jordan. The controversial aspect of the chant is that it suggests eliminating the Israeli state entirely.

I could maybe maybe buy this until Labour sacked that guy for saying there should be free Israelis and Palestinians from the river to the sea.
It’s clearly not chanted by the vast majority to mean “kill all Jews”. Same as people not understanding the use of the word martyr.
I never thought I’d see worst war discourse than Iraq, but here we are.

Hmmm, I’m not sure shmmeee. A lot of people chanting it know exactly what they mean. Then there’s probably a lot of well meaning people who join in without knowing/realising
It’s how it could be construed anyway and let’s be honest there’s plenty of stuff that people can take the wrong way and its called racist/unacceptable in different circumstances, yet this is seen as ok by many
. I can see how it upsets many Jewish people*I’ve only read up on it recently as I wanted to understand more on the conflict - almost impossible to get an unbiased view due to the extremes on both sides

I didn’t say it was, just I don’t see any other interpretation than support for a one Palestinian state solution.

It goes back to the war aims of 1948, driving the Jews westward basically westwards into the Med. Now the likes of Trans Jordan never envisaged a Palestinian State, it was more about expanding their own territory. As they did until 1968 and of course Egypt did with Gaza.
This is and has been since the fall of the Ottoman Empire a multi layered issue, just look at all the rivalries, Iran vs Iraq, Iran vs Saudi, Monarchies vs Theocracies, I always think of Saudi as being the most religious but they are under attack from dissenters who consider them sell outs, and then you have Iran's internal pressures as well and Egypt that relies on money from Gulf states, Sunni vs Shia and so it goes on.
Pakistan has been kicking out hundreds of thousands of Afghans but nobody seems bothered about that.
And then there is the big one, Water.
If Israel vapourised not a lot would change. Just different issues.

Well bully for you, but huge amounts of people who support a two state solution sing it. Because it’s a catchy chant.
This is “hmmm, are Coventry City really the greatest team the world has ever seen? Seems disrespectful to the 70s Brazil side to me” level.
There is antisemitism in the movement, obviously, but claiming everything is antisemitism just makes everyone on that side defensive.
The history of this chant shouldn’t be lost on anyone by now, but you seriously can’t see “any other interpretation”?

it's the lyrics to a wolftones song where the phrase is written on a wall in Glasgow and the narrator notes this

Support for a secular one state solution, even if that is what the chant meant for most, is not the same as support for the IRA.
I can maybe breakout the crayons if this is still too difficult to wrap your head around.

It is random watching people excuse things for one set of people but would be against it if somebody else did it.
What better day to sing anti Jew songs and promote hate for them than remembrance Day. May as well cover all the poppies with Palestine flags too.
