I'm not saying we are right but all your arguments are flawed.

what the players could do is... look up and have a look where our players are, then pass the ball!! just an idea:whistle:

nah nah too easy, lets fire it at 80 mph at the advertising boards then shrug your shoulders

I'm struggling to believe what I'm reading in this thread. We play crap in an empty ground, crap away from home in half full or full grounds with seats and also some standing areas and we always seem to lose everytime a big crowd comes to the Ricoh as well. It's a lame excuse and I can't believe Robins said it. It's the first ridiculous statement I've heard from him.

What about in the good old days when we had a reserve team did all the players complain at Highfield Road when trying to pass forward towards the East Stand and the all Sky Blue background? I'm sorry but people have different coloured legs and faces and the don't stand motionless next to the seats in a kit painted like a seat trying to blend in. Whats the excuse for them not being able to control the ball, is it blending in with the clouds?

I personally think as I stated earlier in the thread its away for him to highlight the absence of fans /supporters without sounding critical. He must be looking for any edge he can gain for the team and the ground and apathy within it must make him wonder .

No team in history has survived relegation on the basis of goals from one player. Last season if memory serves the lowest team to survive scored 65 goals.

So at the present rate (with McGoldrick getting half the goals total of the team) McGoldrick is going to have to score a MINIMUM of 30 goals for us (even assuming he stays).

Currently he is scoring roughly 1 in 2, so at that rate he COULD potentially score just over 20 goals.

Goals need to come from other players - It's that simple!

Why do you just make things up - or are you just simple.

Leyton Orient finished one place above the relegation zone last season and scored 48 goals.

Bournmouth finished 11th and scored 48 goals.

There was not one team last season that survived and did not make the play offs that scored more than 65 goals other than Notts County who finished 7th.

Of the teams finishing between 11th and 20th only one managed 60 goals.

Why are you such a fool?

Oh dear you just answered astutes arguments.

Seriously though, when a bowler runs up in a test match wearing all white does the batsman not see him coming because of the side screen?

A few weeks ago our poor play was down to people booing and now it's the seats. How about the players, although it may be an odd concept?

My oh my you have never played football have you? Lol

I am a GK. I am used to picking out players at the other end of the pitch with a quick glance. Players don't blend in with the background as you are teying to say they do.

You never heard of anyone adapting to the conditions as a game wears on?

Seriously? :thinking about:

So what is your excuse for the games we start well just to throw it away in the second half?

Different sport. Incomparible

Rubbish. Keepers have more time than anyone

So you have never played in goal then. If a GK can get the ball up straight away as soon as he claims it his team can have a clean counter attack. You have a couple of seconds to spot your player and to send the ball to him. This is including having players in your way.

Different eyesight you mean?

Suppose it is the same when rugger players are covered in mud. You can't see them at all.
Not so much crossfield passing. For instancel making a pass in rugby you instinctively look behind or sideways and people are normally in the same place

How can they see each other though if we can't spot each other? Most of our passes are sideways :D

So why don't our opponents pass the ball to us all the time if they can't see us? Have they got better eyesight than our team? Seriously....

No-one is saying it did.

There were at least 4 passes in the first half though hit to the flanks where the ball was nowhere near the player and went straight out for throw-ins. No-one is talking about shots on goal, they are talking about picking out players with a background of sky blue empty seats behind them.

And Astute, just don't see the argument there at all. Sometimes you have to adapt to the conditions. What the hell does that have to do with teams sometimes starting well and fading and sometimes starting poorly and improving? We are talking about different things.

Sometimes you start poorly and improve, sometimes you start well and fade and sometimes you have adapt to the conditions, be that the wind, the rain, muddy or bumpy pitch or playing in the ground itself.

You are talking about the first 2 scenarios, I am talking about the latter.

i have been reading this thread and killing myself laughing! i remember when fergie come out with that bullshiit with the grey kit but did not expect our own fans to come out with this! I didnt think we could sink any lower than the 'our players are too good' thread!!!:facepalm::facepalm:

So if it goes with what you say it is ok to say it but if it don't go with what you say it is changing the subject?

Do you think we would play better with a different kit Otis? How come our opponents can see us and not pass us the ball Otis? How come if we start crap it is down to the kit but if we finish poor it isn't Otis?

You are confusing different things.

1. Yes, I hate this kit. Yes, I find it wishy washy. But that has nothing to do with this. Whichever shade of sky blue we play in, if the seats are sky blue and are empty it's going to make no difference at all to whether it is a problem or not is it.

2. I am only talking about changing the kit because I like stripes and dislike the current kit. This was a follow on from the best historical kit thread and has absolutely nothing to do with the thread about whether or not the seating is a problem.

3. The manager has said it and I am just saying that we should look at everything, no matter how daft it sounds. It does sound daft but we should look at it, just the same as we should look at the music when we come out.

4. No, I don't think we would play better in a different kit, unless there is something in what MR says and we then change to a totally different colour completely.

5. No-one is saying if we are crap it's down to the kit. Just a suggestion (from the manager) that it might possibly be a problem sometimes!

Stop hijacking my thread. The plain or stripes has absolutely nothing to do with the other thread about the seats. The thought didn't even cross my mind when I started this new and totally unrelated thread about whether fans in general prefer us in a plain kit or a striped one.

Hand on heart there is no relation whatsoever from my perspective.

I fully agree the two threads are separate. No chance they have anything to do with each other as they are both about kits...one wishy washy and one with stripes that have been unlucky for us in recent years as our players could see eachother ;)

This is the emptiest the ground has ever been though isn't it.

Not been an issue before.

I much prefer the colour of the seats to this season's bland kit though. Maybe they should swap and then the seats wouldn't be able to see the players.

Wow that was some read of 134 pages of dribble for a monday morning.

My issue would be have the players come out and said it. Have they said they are finding it hard to distingush players from the empty seats in the stands. if this is the case something needs to be done. If not the players saying it then i put it ddown to players just being poor.

I am guessing MR gave them both barrels at half time and the players said it was an issue.

It could be a 'the dog ate my homework' moment though.

Why are you showing just the one team there?

Was that just the warm up pre-game?

I remember playing wembley doubles at school, we could pick each other out by looking up and seeing their face as we all had uniform on.

Yep really. We had games that would last weeks of lunchtimes and if your doubles partner was off school you had to do it all by yourself!

You had wishy washy sky blue uniforms then I take it?
