Please get fit and ready soon Mr Sheaf, you’re needed badly.
I really wonder if Dovin is going to be a site better than what we have too. Good shot stopper but doesn’t catch the ball and doesn’t dominate his area at all.
Early days and I don’t think Robins even knows for sure what is going to actually work well regularly.
He’s only 22, those areas of his game can be improved. What a silly thing to say

What’s annoying is that Bristol looked decent, but only created chances from our errors or set pieces. Again we were lethargic. The subs helped (Palmer anyway).

We got absolutely nowhere near the level of the Oxford game.
Midfield horribly exposed. Rudoni & Torp disappointing and that’s one of the worst games I’ve seen Josh Eccles play.
Frustrating that we have 4 attacking players on the bench that are equal in quality as the starters, defence too but there’s not much Robins can do about DM/CM with only Allen available. We only have one CM injured FFS.
If we’re playing 3 in the middle, I want 2 CMs in next week.
Lati, Dovin and MVE good.
Palmer MOM

Binks is better on the ball imo, if we were doing that I’d play him wide and Kitching central.
Binks is better on the ball but his positional sense is not as good and while I wouldn’t describe Kitching as quick, I think he has the edge on Binks for pace.

How did Dovin put a foot wrong today? He was the reason we didn’t concede 3 or 4, and even if he didn’t have one of their players restricting him for the goal he’d have had no chance.

More great passing from Eccles
He had a poor game, we to a man almost played as of we had the freedom of the pitch. Yes they pressed well but the way we dithered made it easier for them, Ruddoni and Eccles were the worst for this IMO.

Dovin is way better than either of the other keepers, Wilson wouldn’t have saved the shot in the second half. You can see the defenders are happy to give Dovin the ball back unlike the other two

Dovin literally came out and wiped out Binks taking control of his box in the first half.

One issue with that style of play is that it’s actually pretty boring.

we are trying to build momentum, but setting out like that doesn’t exactly get the blood pumping.

if you win playing like that then you can maybe justify it, but if you’re not then it just turns people off.

Mason-Clark to me looks like quite a shy kid, and he needs to build some confidence that he can do it in the championship - I’m sure he can but he just needs some time to adjust.

It's hard, Torp is too pedestrian but the only fit CM with creativity. Allen would be better defensively/for pressing but I can't fathom a midfield of Eccles and Allen. We really need Sheaf and another in ASAP if possible

Feel like I’m banging the drum a little too much now but Dasilva starts for me over Bidwell now.

The benefit of Bidwells defensive capabilities unfortunately don’t outweigh what Jay brings when we’re on the ball.

It sticks better on the left, we play more and he made a couple of runs infield that offered Wright more space on the ball

EMC was positive with his play and lovely floated cross into the box for the goal. He needs a run of games to get his confidence and flow going.
Haha, yes it led to the goal but it was more of a hopeful ball in with a very obvious swing of his weaker foot.

Just too many parallels to England this summer.

Obviously shit performances need addressing but a point away to a difficult side when you’ve played shit is decent tbf. We can appear so soft yet grind out a result. (Yeah I know we lost at Stoke)

It really is a CM signing, Sheaf back and tweaks needed and we’ll be good.
Yeah we always struggle to get going
People really are silly

If you were man enough you’d take Evo up on his offer and call him names to his face, else that makes you a keyboard warrior!

there really are some silly people on here aren’t there - ‘you’re not a man if you don’t go and have a fight with someone because they disagree with your opinion’ 🙄 I think you need to grow up

and in answer to your previous question, I believe “…..you simple twat , get the fucking replay or stfu” was probably where I realised talking sense wasn’t going to work

are you now going to offer me out too? perhaps you could pick up the scraps once Evo has finished with me?

What else was said?

No energy.
Can’t pass
Headering things for no reason
Positioning poor
Application poor today.
Not calm with thinking
Can’t see passes for some reason
Link up play poor
Early doors but we’ve still got a point,
Disappointing but we could have have one it in the end.
Still things to work on.
Tuesday I’ll look on the bus who warrants game time to work into Norwich game.
We’ve got more internationals so need to look at that.
Not where we wanted it today.

For all his faults Palmer is capable of producing a moment of brilliance to create a goal. At the moment I don’t see how it’s coming otherwise. Simms has hardly had a touch.

Above is the comment I made at half time.

This is why I think Palmer is a useful asset for us. He can be frustrating and inconsistent but he can also produce, as he did today, one of those moments that can change a game.

The other thing to bear in mind with EMC is he's effectively playing out of position.

He played on the left for Posh and now he's out on the right so it's different for him.

Wouldn't be averse to giving him a start there ahead of Saka soon.

I thought the ref was shit, but im starting to sound like a stuck record where ref's are concerned. The standard is very poor.

Hope you’re not too disappointed with the point @fatso ! Bristol City are decent so I expected it. If we smash Norwich in the next game things are all good as far as I’m concerned!

In the end I think we've gone for quantity rather than quality.
Maybe that balance hasn't quite been right given the amount of money we've spent.
Ok I understand the model is to find and develop to sell on but you need a successful team to make anyone shine.

Decent point away from home. I’m sure the 39 pages of this thread all reflect that given where we are at in the season and that BCFC are a decent side. Onwards and upwards, unbeaten in 3.

Torp completed just 59% of passes, that's pretty criminal for a CM and I can't see why Eccles (88%) is getting more stick for being wasteful by some, even if it was his worst game for a long time.
Torp tries much harder passes than Eccles tbf. Eccles is also giving the ball away in horrendous positions more than I would like.

Hopefully we'll have too much for Norwich, but 1 point from 2 winnable away games isn't good enough.

However win the next away game (Watford) and we'll have 4 points from 3 games on the road which will look a bit better.

Van Ewijk positional sense was terrible today the number of times they had one or two players on the back post or our right side and nearly got goals from it was terrible, he gets sucked inside to often and needs to take care of his side before helping the centre backs .

Well two games on the spin the opposition have tried to punch our players, in front of the officials, and nothing’s happened. Still, important that Godden got banned retrospectively for being given a penalty.
