Although it probably wouldn't have made zero difference, but not quite sure how the keeper wasted 1.5 mins off the 5 added on and the ref blew pretty much bang on 5 mins.

The ref spent another minute booking him and getting the ball back. Then didn't add it on anyway.

So he would have been better off just letting play go on

That's goes back to the club and King not having a vision, look at Brighton, they lose a manager and then they bring someone in who fits the mould and plays a similar way with what fits in with the squad. There's continuity. Swansea did it too a few years ago.

We've brought Frank in who has just failed at his last two jobs and wants to play possession based football, when we don't have the players to do it. Wright and EMC are misses, but even with them, we don't have the players to play the way he wants. I'll say it until I'm blue in the face, we are a really good counter attacking side, yet Robins and now Lampard wants to play slow possession based football.

We can’t play counter attacking football if we concede the first goal of the game 60% of the time. This is the fundamental issue facing this team because the team that scores first, often wins (or at least not lose). Today is a great example, 1-0 down after 5 minutes! We do ourselves no favours.

I don’t think there’s that much separating MR and FL’s vision for the team and style of play. I still believe that 2-3 good signings really elevates us. A marshalling defender and a midfielder with Hamer’s profile is what we need.

Lampard was the best candidate for the job and has brought in coaches much better than what we’d bring in otherwise. We do have a vision for the squad and playing style but these things take time.

we beat boro 3 nil with 10 so they can

That's true although they were dominant for large periods of that game even with 10 men. Cardiff were a lot more negative. Boro left themselves open.

Agreed but likewise I'd be very surprised if King has told him he can overhaul the entire squad like some are claiming is needed.
I'm not sure about entire squad. I think we need a decent spine and somebody with a bit of bottle though.

Cheer up guys we've got Norwich away to look forward to on Saturday, what could possibly go wrong.

Little bit of chatter in the away end about Thomas is off.

After the game he spent an awful long time clapping the fans although he looked like he was apologising.

Same as any manager? A bit of motivation. A bit of tactical nous. A clear plan and system for the players to follow. It’s not Fantasy Football where you just pick XI players and hope for the best.

And we haven’t moved away from shit. We’re in the exact position we were when robins was sacked. Only ten games later.
He's done exactly that, he's identified where we are weak, he's dropped Collins, Dasilva and Binks, and we've only conceded 1 goal in the last 3 games. I'd say the defence is looking much better. (Today's goal was down to a midfield error)

People were calling for Simms to start, and he gave him that start, but there's a lack of quality, experienced options available, we have plenty of numbers, but limited quality!

The problem he has is that he doesn't have the players available to drop Sheaf, or MvE or Eccles or Sakamoto, hence the need to give him transfer windows to address things.
In the meantime we'll have to be patient. (Again)

I can't see where he would go though? He's not premier League and he's not been bombed out with us. I could totally get kitching but not sure what move Thomas would get.

Keeper was clever to be fair, dragged out until he was about to booked and booted the ball away, causing more wasted time.

Ref was a wet wipe. Lati should have been booked for getting in the refs face. Think it was him anyway.

Who? If you really believe people on here want Lampard to fail. Call it out.

Nobody wants Lampard to fail, he’s talking out of his backside and he knows it.

When a guy has been brought in on the pretext of being an elite tactician & to follow on from our most successful manager in decades, it’s human nature that comparisons will be made, and Lampard has big shoes to fill. However there is a huge difference between commenting on a manager’s performance and “wanting him to fail”- which is something that seems lost on large swathes of this place.

The vast majority of fans aren’t actually making comparisons - just a few on a football forum including - with respect - those who wouldn’t even go if we appointed Slot

Nothing as of yet.

However he is our manager. He deserves the respect of the fans for trying to salvage something from this squad, and he deserves two transfer windows to put it right
I think my expectations are higher than yours. This should be about getting value for money out of an underperforming squad, not a salvage operation.

Couldn’t make it today so had to watch it on Sky. Even their commentary team kept asking why we keep playing it sideways and backwards
Kept saying, what’s wrong with Coventry they won’t go forward.

Could it be there frightened to give the ball away, which they do anyway. 🙈
