    The Kase(y) for Palmer

I’ve seen him put some nice balls in for people but even then, he’s more likely to admire his pass than to carry on moving to support the attack.

    LIAM WALSH

Hate to say it but we shouldn’t go for him. One of my favourites in the promotion season but he didn’t stay or rejoin at any point since. I seem to remember his other half wanted to stay in Bristol. And that injury record 😳

    Summer transfer window 2024

The thing I hated about Bolton in those days was when the penny started to drop with their chairman Phil Gartside. Contemplating how bad it would be to get relegated from the Prem with their bloated wage bill, he was one of the loudest supporters of the idea of a PL1 & 2 sealed off permanently...

    Haji Wright

Pretty sure one of Simms’ goals v Rotherham was very similar albeit a role reversal.

Is it 1 April today ?

Bayern are in a right mess now. Their preferred options turned them down a while ago. Then, with rumours rife that they were thinking of Ralph Ragnick, Hoeness came out and suggested that only a coward would accept the job. Then they did approach Ragnick who told them, in no uncertain terms, to...

    Transfer Rumour Godden

He’s got a lot of limiting factors now which makes it hard to see him in the championship next year: - No pace - Not the biggest/most powerful - Not a great presser - Limited link up ability I feel disloyal saying all that because he’s done a great job for us, especially his first 3 years...

    Summer transfer window 2024

The big question for Luton is can they hang on to their manager? If he goes, it could disrupt the more than losing any particular players. They will expect to lose Barkley. Townsend didn’t play many minutes but also might have to drop to the championship anyway. Doughty and Adebayo would be...

Nearly as bad as Ian Rush saying Italy was like another country 🤦‍♂️🤪

    Summer transfer window 2024

When Binks came on for Kitching at Wembley, it was like having another player on the pitch. He looked so assured. But there have been other times when he’s been caught out of position and not reacted quickly enough to danger, sometimes contributing to conceding goals. He also looks a bit one...

    Summer transfer window 2024

I mean old school because he still loves getting physical, loves an aerial battle, not afraid to tackle etc. He reminds me of the centre halves who were more common in the game in the 80s and 90s. The more ‘modern’ equivalent centre back might not be as tall, might be quicker and less likely...

    Summer transfer window 2024

McNally was great for us and filled a Hyam sized hole. Had a couple of iffy games himself and hasn’t looked as good in a back 4 this year (tbf could be many reasons for that). Thomas is a proper old school monster centre half. Better on the ball than McNally and has a big match personality...

    Football Ground Entertainment

Haha. I remember that too. Can’t stand forced entertainment. Why would you turn up early for it? I’d always rather have a beer and get to my seat just before kick off. At half time, I’m busy checking scores and trying to get served. Talking of which, I heard the Wycombe chairman talking a...

    Callum O'Hare

The more I hear about Leicester’s predicament, the more I’m expecting he’ll be going there. They’ll have to sell players and rebuild with lower value players and frees. KDH as one of their young homegrown talents will be a prime candidate to be sold. COH is as close as you can expect to find...

Ben Wilson comments on Simon Moore insta good bye

Just had a Google to see if Moore was being linked to a new club. Anyway, I found this article which was, shall we say, badly researched and a tad optimistic about their man’s prospects. https://www.islandecho.co.uk/simon-moore-hoping-to-be-playing-premier-league-football-again-next-season/...

    Hadji Wright's Winner at Wolves

That Torp goal was something else. What to compare it with? Sol Campbell’s disallowed goal v Argentina is the closest I can get to. But actually, to be at Wembley, as underdogs, having played crap for most of the game, go 3-0 down but turn it round in the last seconds…….Campbell’s doesn’t come...

    Summer transfer window 2024

Agree that after his experience here, he’d think twice about moving so soon and possibly having another tricky bedding in period. With a big price tag in the PL, there’d be nowhere to hide. You never know though. Young English goalscorer from a PL acadamy…… if someone offered silly money, the...

    Liam Kitching

Probably true that our defence was purchased with a different system in mind. I don’t think Lati was brought in to play CB in a back 4 for example. But Kitching is significantly quicker than Doyle which points to his use in a back 4 - less need for cover (if he performs at the level he did...

    Callum O'Hare

It feels like we’ve been managing for 2 years, largely without COH. The club rehabbed him but didn’t offer him a new contract while injured. Why would they? Cuts both ways. Could he have tried harder last few months? Probably but if he got a serious injury, he wouldn’t have a pot to piss in. I...

2023/2024 Second Best Season of All Time

Not much to pick between this season and last. Both are the best since we dropped out of the PL. Before that, 86-87 (obvs) Other than that, I can’t pick between 97-98, 99-00 and 92-93. All had their ups and downs but I’d be tempted to pick 92-93 from the PL era.
