How on earth have you got 'contract extension' from that Tweet?

I think Hamer will go in the summer. His wages aren't sustainable, he isn't likely to sign a new contract and the summer offers the club its last chance to sell really. It works best for both parties and his fee will be able to be reinvested.

    Loan signings

The amount of players needed worries me - a rebuild of that size is a huge task for any club let alone for one with such little time and resource at its disposal. This isn't L2 where bringing in players costs peanuts. There are 'hidden' costs which accumulatively isn't going to come cheap. But...

    Loan signings

In terms of wage structure I doubt it'll change much. FWIW I don't think it really needs to given the amount that is freed up in the summer through departures. The cost will be in funding the actual transfers - i.e. covering transfer fees, signing on fees and agent fees.

Yes. Which frankly, and I said this at the time, was an idiotic comment to make given how the club operates.

    Loan signings

You can think it's ridiculous all you like. But it's pretty common for PL clubs to negotiate high sell-on clauses when they sell young players on. I'd imagine for most it's policy. Ivan Toney for instance had at least a 30% sell-on clause inserted into his contract. I'd imagine it's why the...

Unlikely Gyokeres will be sold for £18m. Seems interested clubs are once again looking elsewhere. Brighton will have a larger sell on clause than that. I suspect it's around 25% of profit. Hoping it's not higher than that but wouldn't be all that shocked either. EFL loan is around £2.4m I...

    Loan signings

Recruiting that many players also poses a few more issues. 1. Cost. More players needed means more budget needed for transfer fees, signing on fees and agent fees. I'd imagine a sale or two will be needed to finance a rebuild although I don't think that comes as a shock to most. 2. Competition...

    Loan signings

Hmm not sure I agree with this. It's more likely that selling playes will give the club greater scope to spend more with regards to offering fees but I'd imagine the budget will still be the budget and it isn't likely to increase beyond what it currently is. Not by a great deal anyway. The...

    Transfer Rumour Rak-Sakyi

I don't think it was a case that he was homesick. I think it was more to do with the fact that when he arrived he became quickly apparent in both training and in the U23 game that he played in that he was far below the level required.

Yeah not really sure why posters aren't getting this. It's a pretty simple concept.

Prior to joining Peterborough Ivan Toney had, had a reasonable record in League One. But there was little to nothing to suggest he'd ever make at Newcastle. Yet they still took the decision to insert a high sell-on clause. Brighton are pretty shrewd in their transfer dealings. I'd imagine it's...

30% isn't an insurmountable figure. I think Ivan Toney had a similar sell-on clause inserted in his deal. Given the low fee Gyokeres was brought in for I'd imagine it's higher than most fans think.

    Transfer Shouts

Looks like Robins has scope to bring in another player, on top of the two he was actively pursuing, now that Waghorn has been shipped out.

Good player, but his wages would undoubtedly be an issue.

    Josh Eccles New Contract

Because once again it's a lack of pragmatism from the club. Eccles, as talented as he is, quite clearly has persistent injury issues which he can't seem to shake. Every single season he's been out for long periods which at this stage of his career should set off some alarm bells. I doubt his...

    Josh Eccles New Contract

Hmm. Clearly a talented player but his injury record is appalling - and a 4 year contract is a big commitment.

Most in house marketing managers really aren't earning that much. It's a pretty saturated market now which has in turn vastly driven down salary offered for those in the field. Better off going freelance really. More competitive but if you have half a brain it's not really all that difficult to...
