Even the ones in hospital, they don't need to test positive for it to be a covid death.Yep the out of hospital deaths are what is recorded on the death certificate and that does not require confirmation.

Up north I thinkWhich Five Guys is that?
Is that the New Street one?
Just asking cos I might go and be outraged in person.
Just looked, a positive test result isn't required for somebody to have died from Coronavirus.
Bit mad really.
4.5,k new cases
Where is this transmission occurring
ONS has cause of death data:Have they started to delve into all of the deaths they are announcing?
The restrictions remaining until there is a vaccine.
It's not going to work economically or practically. You can't keep people in lockdown for up to 18 months as it will be worse for peoples health and they are liable to start to ignore it.
You need to wait until the transmission data is down and then go back to the test and track methods. That requires high testing capacity but that will happen eventually.

McDonalds, like pretty much everywhere else, closed voluntarily. Its all well and good people on social media being outraged that places like B&Q and Five Guys are reopening and asking why the government are allowing it. The government never stopped it in the first place.Yet McDonalds drive through closed.
I don't get why the police allow it if they are clamping down on people in country parks walking on their own?McDonalds, like pretty much everywhere else, closed voluntarily. Really shows the complete lack of common sense in many people. I like a burger as much as the next person but its not something I'd risk my life over.

Yep B&Q are, possibly what you can buy as wellAgree, no ssue with them being open, but people need to adhere to the social distancing as much as possible (and stores should also be trying to enforce it, like the supermarkets are now doing)
That was what the stories regarding chris Whitty said.I made no suggestion the restrictions remain until there is a vaccine or that lockdown would continue for 18 months. I said social distancing might last all year (which is what has been mentioned) and questioned what that looks like while trying to get the economy going.
In full lockdown mode now, head has been shaved.
Yep B&Q are, possibly what you can buy as well
But I'm fairly sure you can buy online with delivery too
Fairly sure there are certain construction jobs which could be safely carried out .
Not sure of obtaining materials from wholesalers though
That was what the stories regarding chris Whitty said.
Social distancing is what we are in now, this isn't a lockdown so no social distancing will not last all year

I've got the Police Chiefs Council guidance for officers saved on my phone in case I get moaned at when I take the dog out (you're allowed to drive somewhere to walk the dog which people have been hassled over), and collected food from a takeaway is on the allowed list.I don't get why the police allow it if they are clamping down on people in country parks walking on their own?
Really? How the hell is that allowed?I've got the Police Chiefs Council guidance for officers saved on my phone in case I get moaned at when I take the dog out (you're allowed to drive somewhere to walk the dog which people have been hassled over), and collected food from a takeaway is on the allowed list.
Its more that the lockdown has been badly implemented and mostly voluntary. We'll see more of this as more places decide to open back up.
I used to have a number 1 back in my yoof but not done it for a while and quite like it. No idea what number mine is, I think a number 2, ended up doing it with a beard trimmer.Haha. I went No 1 all over a couple of days ago for the first time in my life.

It’s more of a restriction of movement than a lockdown in the UK.This is a lockdown. There’s laws saying you can’t leave your house except for a few given reasons. That’s lockdown.
Social distancing is stuff like 2m apart when out, wearing masks, no contact deliveries, the stuff you can do without lockdown when life is carrying on as well as during lockdown.
I’m not expecting to be able to visit home until next year, very challenging with family over, especially with parents getting older and my nephews growing up.You're playing with semantics.
Regardless of lockdown/social distancing definitions some measures will have to be kept in place to keep Ro at or below one. Yes, test and trace will help but we're never going to do that as effectively as China so some restrictions are likely to remain in place for sometime, as stated by Whitty and Sturgeon.

I hope so but I the problem is going to be more from this end, I reckon. It seems like we are going to be restricted to staying with the region here for at least 2 months still, will get a weekend in Venice booked in thoughApparently there's "no chance" measures will last that long so get your flights booked mate.

Whitty said they are taking into account the mental health effects of restricted movement. You're playing with semantics.

Think it’s harsh on Starmer to be less trusted than Hancock (a serial liar) and Raab (a total fucktard) but it does lend to the point that the incumbent administration will always have an inflated popularity during a crisis.
