Why?
Was part of Lampards failures at Chelsea and Everton but part of the staff that won the Champions League in between those appointments.
I'm not saying it's not good, just be interesting to hear why you're pleased with it.

Very highly regarded. Worked with Chelsea and England youth teams.

A bit like Carsley I guess. About as good a number 2 as we could expect I reckon.

2 year deal seems odd. Surely for stability it needs to be this season plus two years as a minimum. I know it means a bigger pay off if it's wrong, but who sets out like that? We'll presumably back him in the window and after Robins and Adi got 4 year deals it seems low.

Coaching reshuffle with two moving back down to the youth setup and a few senior coaches in to replace them. Boateng and Carr to remain, unfortunately Williams too but what can you do…

Two years to get us into the Prem with a huge bonus is what I reckon

Joe Edwards is a very good assistant

some folk will be weird and argue without any actual evidence he is shit but hey ho

Is Ashley Cole even available he's gone back to the U21s, a job he quit a job as 1st team coach to do full time.

I think we all agree Rhys Carr deserves to stay as part of the coaching setup. Not really arsed about anyone else, especially if we bring better in as part of the new manager appointment
Based on what? He's part of the new set up that people have consistently bemoaned. Stepped into the breach but played three, won none and conceded 2 in every match. Whilst I'm not saying it's his fault, I've seen nothing to convince me that he should or shouldnt stay.

Financial reasons is my thinking. I can’t see these appointments coming cheap.
Agree, but I'd like to think that he at the very least costed out that when he made the decision to remove MR and that it wasnt as kneejerk as it might have appeared. Whilst not a football man, he is a businessman, but who knows.

The costs of getting this wrong outweigh the costs of putting the right people in which is how I hope he sees it.

With all the ££££££ it's going to cost Doug, looks like he'll be changing his mind on loans, as they will be the only option we can afford!!!

not even trying to be facetious here, but how do we even know it was carr that was the brains behind the last 3 games?
