The one thing that hasn't been picked up on, I'm assuming because everyone is (rightly) thinking the whole thing is absolutely ludicrous & is created in his own head, but this guy would have to pass a 'fit & proper persons test'. And whilst we know that this test is far from bullet-proof as many clubs can attest to, there is absolutely no way Dale Evans would pass such a test.

The problem is, all his family and friends were backing him on Facebook a few weeks back.
That's the bit I don't get. Get the friends a bit to a degree, but family? Surely your family would know the potential damage of playing along.

He's already got really upset and agitated a couple of times over what he sees as abuse.

When you say 'family,' how close a family member are we talking?

But he could become POTUS.

Maybe they know something we don't believe.

Like what?

Even if he did have the money and was going to buy Coventry City it still doesn't get away from the fact there were several clear untruths and so much that just hasn't made sense.

Why were people who knew him contacting me and others saying he is a serial bullshitter and always has been?

What could they know that we don't believe? So many people now have said the whole thing is untrue.

Not unless he was born in the US.

Saying that, I'm sure he could get an email knocked up from that other stable genius, confirming that he was born in the White House or something...
Or produce a picture of him standing outside a white house.

so in addition to buying the club for £20m, paying the professional fees etc he is going to provide major funding this January for transfers, plus covering the working capital required, in addition to all the assets and property he has been providing for his family (a pot of £25m + ? or double his first statement of wealth)........... all on his own no consortium............. :banghead:. Anyone paying that sort of money out for CCFC is completely off their trolley.

If he does turn out by some small chance to be for real then how does he convince others to get involved - because he would need to. Who would be prepared to give him funds knowing that they would have no real say in anything. Why tie all your money in to getting rid of SISU, who deserve no reward for their actions, to leave the club short of funds going forward. The investment to challenge at the top of L1 or in the Championship will be significant. Its mad, I can only see it ending badly

Not to mention he needs to negotiate somewhere for the club to play - Wasps will not be shy in asking top dollar from him, BPA needs the funding too

In all honesty I feel the club is in safer hands financially with the current set up, as much as I distrust and despise that. It is not about getting rid of SISU at all costs it is about making a safe future for CCFC - what i have seen so far leads me to believe that future is not safe under SISU but even less safe under Evans. Just my opinion.

Like the rest of the posters on here I believe the whole thing is ridiculous and only exists in Evans head
However, assuming it is true, I wonder what the Football League would say and would he pass the "fit and proper person" test.
Surely before he could even put in a credible offer and let alone buy the club he would have to approach the EFL for approval to purchase the EFL golden share

Is there an example of the FL refusing the golden share to any new club owner on the basis that such owner didn't pass the "fit and proper person" test?

Await his response where he says he put all his poker winnings on Willis first goal scorer, city 2-1 and then a cheeky bet on Mark Hughes to be sacked

Didn't they refuse it to that Italian bloke at Leicester (or was it Leeds)?

Yes, Massimo Cellino but the refusal decision was overturned on appeal and he went on to run them like a shit-show for a few years.

Anyone remember the Kurt Drago fiasco? As Mr Evans appears to like a bet, is it possible he’s part of that betting group and is having us all on to get some publicity? Seems similar, that’s my theory anyway or he’s just completely insane

My theory is that the Hoffman consortium has kicked him in to touch and he is trying to play the "big I am" on his own
I expect we will hear in a few weeks that the consortium has "out bid" him and he has retracted his offer.

In all seriousness, I'm amazed they haven't said anything. Doesn't even have to be nasty or negative, just as much as he was welcomed into the consortium, informing people that Dale Evans is no longer part of the consortium, and leave it at that.

I agree
It needs a short sharp comment from Gary Hoffman
Nothing offensive or controversial just a clear statement that Dale Evans is no longer part of our bid.

"He isn't in our gang any more, we have banned him from our base made in the woods and he no longer has access to our collection of pornos found in the park. It all started when we heard he had made his own base and tried to steal our car tyres we made seats from, we wish him the best of luck with his base"

Exactly.

Feel like writing to Hoffman myself and asking him.

Might also mention I have a cheeky £37.50 I would like to throw into the hat and ask if I can be part of his consortium.

Really thought Hoffman would have said something. Last thing he said was that he seemed happy at the prospect of having Mr. Evans onboard.

Like you say, all it now takes is for him to say Evans is now no longer involved.

Actually was wondering if Dale Evans has had to change his story and say he is buying the club outright himself BECAUSE he has been dumped.

His wealth does seem to keep on increasing doesn't it. First it was £10m, then the guy who said he was buying his house said it was £14m and now seemingly it's £20m.

Yet someone saw his wife buying budget food in the supermarket.

Like OSB said, if you are going it alone you would need £30m plus surely, especially if you are talking about transfer money too.

Look i said a few weeks back he will land himself in serious trouble , in that post Dale you have not listened. You could well now find yourself at the wrong side of the law, people like HMRC then start digging and open up all sorts of worms ref your financial position, I know someone who has gone to prison no ifs or buts when it comes to the tax man. So I strongly advise you now and immediately remove yourself . You are already committing fraud by using other companies letters. If you want to go down carry on by all means, if you want to come out of this with any credibility and not put more shame on yourself or your innocent family STOP!
