When was the last time an elected government did what they pledged to do in an election. Plus an election is every 4 years unless a government is dumb enough to call an ill advised early election. If you’re going to compare apples compare them with apples. Unless of course you’re saying that we can have another EU referendum in June 2020 with your blessing.

Yes, you could say let’s give it go and if it doesn’t work out we’ll go back in. But... it may set our economy back years and even if we get back in, it will never be on the same terms as now. We will have lost agencies and parts of the City and our manufacturing industry. That is a big gamble which is more likely to end up with us worse off than better off.
