I don't recall any, Singers_pore. Can you quote a few?

1. When rumors started going around about JM being sold, TM said he didn't think JM should be sold but that he doesn't have control over player trading decisions.
2. When players came in TM said it was like "flipping a coin" suggesting that he didn't think the player trading strategy was well planned or something that he had any real control over.

Nothing in it.... a throw away comment not aimed at anyone. If it was I'd have addressed you in it.
If he'd of stayed we'd still be in the same situation now, he knew it and said it weekly in his interviews.
We live we learn... that's football. Managers are tasked with managing teams, some work some don't, some have to deal with the previous persons regime, and the previous have to work with there previous regimes players.... a continuing cycle that rarely brings success. Some times it does... at some point you gotta stick to go forwards if it means a short term step back.

If we can start to dominate some games (noy so much possession. Just being on front foot) alongside battling like men i would be happy to see slade stay.

You're exaggerating how good the squad was I think. It was very strong when we were top but weakened significantly when Turner went back and when Kent did. Despite the enormous talent of Murphy and Armstrong, it was pretty ordinary otherwise including Fleck.

I wouldn't say so:

Cargill
Turner
Johnson
Stokes
Martin
Maddison
Armstrong
Murphy
Kent (shudder)
O'Brien
Fleck
Vincelot

Any one of those would have walked into our team now I think. In fact, it wasn't even so much just the squad and resources, it was being in such a good position and blowing it in such epic fashion.

So what's that got to do with Mowbray going after players above our level that didn't pay off?

Has the small investment brought better quality in Turnbull or Jones? (Those 2 players he paid fees for)

This is the problem with our fans, no real understanding but sit at home and cry NOPM.

your getting moronic now nick if you don't go after better quality players you don't improve do you?
if the owners won't invest in higher wages for the better players and your powers of persuasion don't
work your up the creek with mediocre or even worse to pick from.speculate to accumulate works
if not pushed too far.our shit owners your beloved SISU don't push at all lack of investment
is killing us so yes NOPM

How is it moronic, because I can understand that we can't compete on wages with Championship teams? Have you seen the difference in an average Championship and League 1 wage?

Beloved? Have a word with yourself. You are just showing your ignorance and that you clearly don't have a clue, it's all well and good saying "we need the wages to buy this championship player".

More irony from somebody who loves to cry NOPM and makes a point about them not going trying to talk about investment.

yspeculate to accumulate

i think this is what people are missing. the guy tried to build a squad to WIN the league. and it didnt pay off, targets went elsewhere, some cos of sisu wages no doubt and some because got offers higher up.

i prefer shooting for the stars myself but some fans prefer safety and thats understandable i guess. i imagine thats the common factor in those that liked mowbray and those that dont actually.

That doesn't reflect in his decision not to seek compensation. Are you suggesting that he didn't have the tools to do his job?
Am saying that the rug was pulled out from beneath him. Hence the Ramage, Hunt and Henderson signings. We clearly need fresh bods in, as the youngsters we had were never going to last the full season, and thats the level where he had to be at. The actual things going on behind the scenes were laughable.

There is nothing wrong with shooting for the stars, but there needs to be a plan B that is just below the star, a plan C just below that.

Centre backs was his were his No.1 priority and am led to believe he was let down by a number of them at a very late stage, with some even being in the building to sign. Would have been the building blocks, of the team to more established signings i think. A player that left before the season started 100% wanted to go and instigated the move as he was offered an awful lot more money, big let down!

He also said when he left that at some stage the owners are going to have to put money into the club if they want to succeeed. Even Fisher himself said our budget wasn't high for this league.

i agree, there is no doubt our recruitment is messed up at the core. maybe he said to venus what we got now that target a and b have gone? maybe venus said ermmmmmmm let phone some people. ok i got andre wright for you,hes fast!

i have no idea if above happened, just speculating.

what is the plan b and plans c right now i wonder under slade? we seem desperate with young loans again and looking for out of contract players. has anything changed?

once again just questions no answers

What were they?
I dont really want to go into specifics because it would betray the person that told me, it was a between me and you convo. But things you wouldnt even imagine. I know the season petered out and some of his selections and subs were bemusing but i honestly cant believe he stayed as long as he did. I would have quit a long time before.

Look who is talking about ignorance!!! I've said it to you till I'm "Blue in the face" READ what people are saying!!!
Irony coming from a Sixfielder that couldn't give a toss as long as any protest doesn't interfere with him watching football apparently at any level.

What am I reading? Somebody who doesn't go to games moaning about investment?

SHOCK! Person who goes to football match doesn't want to see the match ruined and the result potentially hampered.

1) Somebody who doesn't go to games because owners don't give a fuck about the Football Club, and won't invest properly. (Speculate to accumulate)
2) You to a "T". You don't give a fuck what division CCFC are playing in. You never show, on this forum, any passion against the owners.

Of course I give a fuck, just because I would support ccfc in league 2 or the premier league what's your point? I'd love to be in the champions league or championship but we aren't. Should i just sit at home and not bother once it's below a certain level then?

Yes, somebody who shouts about nopm and not going to games moans about investment, I'm sure you can see the irony.

i get what you mean, but at same time if no one challenges sisu cov will be non league at some point. is that where want club to be for future generations? will it just be a case of supporting ccfc in non league same as supporting in prem then?

we need change. if sisu can make that change then great, but its been a decade of destruction so far. maybe they need to be pushed if they wont walk. sooner or later ST sales are gonna get to them?

by me getting a ST they know that success will be rewarded. if we do well from now on i deserve the praise :)

I don't go because of the owners, I have said I'd go if Wasps bought us or the council did as long as we were CCFC.

Just because I point out that singing a song or throwing a tennis ball is pointless and people don't like it, it doesn't mean I wouldn't want a rich arab prince to come in and donate millions to get us nicely to the premier league etc.

Giving it beans about NOPM isn't challenging SISU, as it's been pointed out over and over again. Surely there's more chance of being non league with NOPM in place, if the the idea is to not give any money to CCFC?

ST sales boycotts will get to the playing budget.

I'm not putting words in your mouth, the players Mowbray missed out on went to Championship teams. That's why he admitted saying he set his targets too high.

What about players like Reid who will be on a decent whack for League 1?

I'm sure the likes of fleck would have stayed with the right players of l1 standard coming in don't say he was crap
ask Sheffield Utd

no because like others I'm genuine in my belief we are being short changed in the investment dept

Ignore that Fleck got a significant pay rise, and sorry, he played here for 4 seasons so CCFC fans (the ones who go) are very well placed to say how good he is, more so than Sheffield United fans are.

You aren't being short changed for anything though are you? That's exactly the point.

You are moaning about low wage budgets while making a point that your principles don't allow you to give CCFC a penny.

Like the vast majority of CCFC fans have done for the first half of SISU's tenure, then in the second half of the tenure realise fuck all decent investment was going back into the team. You do realise don't you? that you are in the minority now. I've said time and again, sell or let go 4 half decent players and bring in 4 shit players in comparison is not the way forward.

Mowbray replaced him with Gadzev before last season had even finished. Then also Bigi.
Yep, seems like Gadhzev was supposed to be the ideal replacement for Fleck.

What a disappointment he has been.
