We're still waiting for Tuesday's bin collection which according to the council took place on Wednesday and then again on Thursday:

"Our bin crews are out and collecting scheduled Thursday collections as well as catching up on missed collections from yesterday and Tuesday"

Let's see if they can make it a hat-trick of bare-faced lies?

Our Thursday collection happened yesterday, which made up for them still not collecting the green bin (which is now full) last Thursday when there was no reason to not collect!

Fair play to anyone that can walk more than a 100 yards on the paths this morning.
Managed to fall over yesterday, wrist was kind of... agony until it seemed to pop itself back in(!) and is now merely sore. Road today is sheet ice! Supposed to be wfh anyway, but think this will be a day when I'll postpone that until next week!

I'd love it if Herpes could deliver my parcel, rather than claiming they can't get here because of the snow and ice...

Apparently there was virtually no gritting done as the met office sent out a forecast saying it wouldn't be needed.

Noticed that this morning that so many roads and bus routes weren't gritted.

Some schools has grit outside on the pavements though.

Actually, just a word of warning to be careful out there.

It's not the snow so much, but more the underlying water. Encountered a number of stretches of very large puddles this morning. Radford Road, Foleshill Road, Cash's Lane. Some were at least 3 inches deep.

Guessing some drains are blocked. This was at 4.40am though. Might be cleared now.

Yep and I bet loads of people will be moaning the schools are all closed again.

Oh how the teachers must be pissed we will probably be sent a letter home saying due to the snow they lost a days holiday so we will have to make it up for them;)

Me and my son walked into the pub last night after getting caught in the rain and sleet walking just a hundred yards, and it was lashing it down. Someone at the bar looked us up and down and said "Is it raining ? "
We were soaked !

Drove back from the Cotswolds last night and the roads were horrendous. I don't say that lightly.

Meant to be at work today but they closed the office again, it's not even that bad to be honest.

First day back on the round today. Bit icy but with the sun out it was fine. Up and down ladders gets you warmed up anyway. Plus a few cups of tea and biscuits helps !

Well we've had the usual hyped up overreaction but looks like Thursday into Friday might be interesting but I won't hold my breath.

Yeah it's been hyped up a bit too much round here. No issues whatsoever at about 6AM this morning and it looks fine now.
