Once again you're either being ridiculously obtuse or just ignorant.
They are required to take tests regularly as you'd expect with people who are the absolute front line, so even if they're triple jabbed and asymptomatic, they're still positive and can't work.
Remember that vaccines have never ever been about stopping anybody catching anything, they're about minimising the impact of catching something.

So if I get boosted my vaccine effectiveness against omicron increases from 0-20% up to somewhere between 55-80%.....but drops away again within a fortnight?
Is that right? And if it is, surely its time to head back to the lab to tweak the vaccines so they actually work for omicron....

Had personal experience of this, assuming symptoms don’t kick in now. Tested positive after getting pinged on Tuesday and testing Wednesday morning but still no symptoms...hopefully it’s stays that way ! Anecdotal but also heard of other people with similar/same situation
Edit - as I mentioned before I had booster 2.5 weeks ago
I think it means you need two weeks after jab for vaccine to fully kick in
It’s saying you are more likely to catch Omicron than delta even with booster/vaccination. The benefit of booster appears not to stop transmission/contagion but to keep immunity levels to the point that you’re extremely unlikely to end up severely ill/in hospital

“Around 9 out of 10 people who require the most hospital care were unvaccinated”
Even taking that comment with a pinch of salt and say it was slightly exaggerated, surely the proof there is if you get the vaccine , your less likely to end up in hospital , the nhs will then be less over whelmed , then less restriction would need to be put in place? Really is a difficult concept to understand isn’t it?????

No, it's just poorly worded. Of course it's worth getting your booster as two doses are not very effective against it.

They’re not now saying it. They’ve always said it about any vaccine ever in the entire history of vaccines.
A vaccine’s only purpose is to prepare the immune system. Nothing more nothing less. Some people will have such a strong response from a vaccine it will give them immunity but that isn’t the primary purpose of the vaccine.
How many times does this have to be pointed out on here. I must have done it a dozen times myself. How are people not getting it.

So essentially, Omicron is more infectious than Delta. That’s all it says. If you get the booster, you can still catch it (same as with almost every vaccine) but your chances of getting it are significantly reduced, and your infection won’t be as bad.

What will your party line be if everyone was vaccinated? It is never going to end mate, and it is becoming pretty clear that the vaccine is not a solution to end this pandemic. Ok, it helps sure, but it is not the way to make it over.
Which prompts the question of why they recently quashed the Scottish one recently.

Was at a late night drinking establishment last night where one was required, and the Old Bill turned up there checking in with the bouncers whilst we were there, but the vast majority didn’t have the app so everyone just either googled a random QR code or one person WhatsApp’d everyone else a copy of theirs and got in.

Could be very good news. Let’s just hope this is repeated across the country. My main concern about the article is that it mentions Northampton has above average vaccination/booster rates which may well have contributed to reduced hospitalisations.
Will some of the major cities with poor vaccination rates have the same outcome ? Fingers crossed they will but logic says probably not....only time will tell
