Match Thread Coventry City v Oxford United - FA CUP 3RD ROUND - 6th January 12:30

It was only 2K down on league average and bigger than some league gates. Helped by a big away following of course. All clubs outside of a select few get reduced gates when playing lower league opposition in the early FA cup rounds. Lots of Championship clubs today at home will get very low...

Are we about to lose the heartbeat of the club ?

We averaging match by match sales of around 5500 (at various price bands) so on average only selling around 55% of available tickets. I suspect they may have expected more, but perhaps not I'm speculating of course, and the transfer surplus is healthy. I'm just not convinced we're swimming in...

Are we about to lose the heartbeat of the club ?

I think people are overstating how much money the club is generating. I suspect we're making significant short term operating losses and the difference covered by the transfer revenues. Crowds are probably about where they expected, possibly a bit lower considering the ST base, but corporate...

Match Thread Coventry City - Swansea City Match Thread - Friday 29th Dec

This play off talk is all a bit optimistic given we've only won 8 out of 25. I'm optimistic for next season definitely. Got to take results like tonight on the chin though. Thought we were very naive in the last 10 minutes or so, didn't manage the game well at all.

That header at the end, Thomas? What was he doing? Ah well, one of those. Frustrating as I can't see us taking much from the next two, but no need to overreact. We move on.

Match Thread Coventry City - Swansea City Match Thread - Friday 29th Dec

A bit dramatic that. Given that's it's Cov you follow home and away, and you're with Cov fans on those trips, it's stands to reason that any trouble you will see will involve Cov fans? Who else is it going to involve? I go to every away game pretty much. Rarely rock up later than 11.30, always...

Tbf, in recent programme notes they said they are looking at solutions for the south Stand to provide more flexibility.

Ah ok, block 12 on one side or block 6 on the other. Both of those need to be accessed via South Stand turnstiles, so guessing they won't allow that at short notice.

We've had both sets of supporters in the South Stand for Gillingham, Crewe, Boro and Accrington, each with a different segregation point, plus we sold season tickets in there one season. Not sure what the issue is tbh.

Not sure what you mean Pete! There's only one block 5 and it's sold out. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding..

    “ Ticket Office “

I'm fully aware of phone masts, I have one outside of my house 😆, I was just using a silly scenario to illustrate a point. That said though, isn't direct phone to satellite soon to be a thing? Regardless, next time I'll expand on the daft doomsday scenario and describe the solar storm taking...

    “ Ticket Office “

I know what you were trying to say, but I'm not sure it makes any difference. If I order an away ticket online, that still has to be processed. They need to collect the receipt from the printer, find the specific allocated seat from what I imagine is a pre-printed pile, put it in an envelope...

    “ Ticket Office “

Not sure that makes sense. Those going to the ticket office aren't being given free tickets either.

    Empty seats

Bristol City and QPR maybe? Hull the 1st allocation sold on day 1 and additional allocation sold the following morning iirc. Wimbledon went in one day too. But yes, hasn't been that difficult this season.

    Empty seats

But as has been stated, this is exactly the same as the current experience, everyone stands anyway. Anyone who doesn't want to will be moving their ST anyway, regardless of whether they install safe standing or not. The real issue is the safe standing area is not big enough to accommodate all...

    Average away followings

Yep, and they only charge under 16s a tenner

SBA is still £20 for most games, although you have to book on early.

    “ Ticket Office “

Re buying a half season ticket, it is true that on order to secure a seat it needs to be available for every game until the end of the season. As Swansea and Leicester are basically sold out, it means half STs are basically unavailable at the moment. What the ticket really ought to do is sell...
