It is still a shitty attitude, no matter how you dress it up. My old man, who has all sorts of practical skills I don't, really struggles with it. I have tried to sit with him many times but he cannot grasp it and it is the source of a huge amount of frustration for him. The team I run at work...

And yet all those youngsters with a sneering sense of superiority because they can use a smartphone (despite having no real idea how it works) would have no clue how to cook a nutritious meal, bleed a radiator, fix a door or change a wheel. Progress. I do wonder what would happen if a solar...

And what about the freedom to choose? It's not on them at all, it's on everyone else to ensure we can accommodate people who make different choices and have a society that respects how people choose to live their lives. We can't accommodate everyone's wishes, we have to push forward and...

Didn't strike me as a Thatcherite 😂 The lines get blurred when you're offering a service. Should you cancel a bus service between two villages because it is not profitable? Or does a developed, 1st world nation work to ensure that service is maintained? Even privatised businesses offering...

I agree with the last paragraph 100%, just some seem to be suggesting we work to close the option off completely. I just hear these arguments all the time when village post offices close, banks close local branches, putting people out of work. Many elderly people find the modern world pretty...

It'll happen for Wednesday, everyone I know planning their day out for that Tbf, should make a decent racket. I thought Sunderland atmosphere was excellent considering the numbers. Also expect numbers for Boro might grow a bit, a few mates have decided to go to today. Pay on the gate will help...

That doesn't address the point. I am asking how do you that if they don't have one, and many don't. You could just shut them out and say tough? Every venue, from theatres to arenas to ice rinks etc. have a physical box office. It's good business. If you're in the business of selling tickets you...

How do you sell a ticket to a 14 year old that has no visa card? How do you distribute away tickets when the postal deadline has gone (not everyone wants to travel and risk collecting from the home ticket office), unless you can solve these problems you will always need manned ticket office...

Some people just prefer it I guess. Plus kids tickets can't be bought online on their own.I don't think? Will be lots of youngsters going to Oxford game for example. Some will be getting Boro tickets and they have no choice, others maybe just like using cash. I know someone who had a serious...

Yeah, I guess so, although I recall we took 2K to Tranmere a few years back on NYD, but maybe the next day wasn't a working day, can't remember. Even so, you'd think it'd far more viable for most than say Cardiff on a Tuesday night when we took 1800. Should get back by 8pm from this one. Not...

On this subject, sales for Boro are really disappointing. I understood Sunderland given the date, but I thought Boro would be healthy enough even if it didn't quite sell. The new players have been a bit spoiled with full away ends but 900 rattling around the away end on Teesside going to be very...

From my experience, it won't really change anything. The only difference will be a bar we can lean on, and you can easily see over this while seated, especially with the steep incline at the CBS. Don't imagine there will be many who move, but yes, they need to have a plan for those that do. I...

It seems we have given Leicester more tickets than Wednesday, so it should be occupied for that game.

Those areas are not closed currently, and it was a complete non incident you refer to, just one Wednesday idiot. Shouldn't change the fact that they are now happy for there to be no closed blocks between home and away fans if demand is there.

    Empty seats

The biggest issue I see is not where they plan to introduce safe standing, it's a no brainer, and is really about ticking the safety certificate box, it won't change anything for those in the areas suggested. It's more about the areas not included, those at the bottom of the blocks who currently...

They are proposing that it is introduced in areas of the ground where everyone already stands all game. I'm not sure of the grounds on which anyone would object. Not even sure a consultation is needed.

Match Thread Coventry City - Swansea City Match Thread - Friday 29th Dec

Looking at the seating plan, it's not been possible to buy 2 seats together since last night. I'm sure they'll open a block later, but it seems an odd way of selling tickets. When it's this close to a sell out, just open everything up and let people choose their preferred location.

Yeah, must be lots of practical benefits sharing the same platform. Take Wembley games for example, tm handle those games, so of if the details (ST details, loyalty points, friends and family) are already loaded on to that system, it obviously makes it a lot easier.

    Sakamoto Chant

Get your point completely. I don't love it, just when it's sung by a large number of people on repeat, it's not too bad.
