Department of Health have now released their figures and its 60,744 people tested.

Also includes a note saying "There have been several revisions to today’s data across all four testing pillars" whatever that's supposed to mean.
Wow that is some extensive figure padding

Get the point he's making but pushing the PM, or whoever is standing in for him, to commit to specifics is of no use if nothing happens when they fail. We all know they very clearly said they'd be testing 100K people a day, every day, by the start of May. That still isn't happening and is hardly mentioned.

Forensic innit? You build up your case over the trial (next 4 years) then lay it all out at once in a damning summation (general election). Realistically nothing can “happen” to a government with a huge majority until then. The only threat to Johnson is the rest of the Tory Party and that’ll rely on his polling.

Polling has been heading in the right direction (from our POV - Johnson’s already lost his rally round the flag boost and is below Starmer in approval), what more can you ask for? Ranting Corbyn style doesn’t win people over, it just fires up the base.

Corbyn ranting? Corbyns style was anything but ranting, particularly at the start. He got criticised for it.

I don't think we will be waiting years for this inquiry.
Interim is weeks away I'd think .
How damning that becomes could cause a huge shift .

Maybe ranting is a poor word, but the whole “DAE evil Tories?” stuff in general. It’s so outside the world view of Tory voters and floating voters that it doesn’t cut through like letting them hang themselves with their own targets.

I loved Corbyn at the start, during the leadership campaign. He was genuinely inspiring at times. But I’m a massive leftie and so was everyone else in the room. We all wanted our biases confirmed.

Tbh if it’s safe for kids to go back to school and the right procedures are in place in the weeks to come, why shouldn’t they?

Not really. You can count doing a throat swab and a nasal swab at the same time as 2 tests. Johnson's commitment was for 100k individuals a day. Failed

His commitment was for 100k tests a day, which in the last 2 weeks has mostly achieved.... it should have been a lot sooner though we were way to slow at testing

No it wasn’t. It was for 100k people tested a day and he said it repeatedly. It’s extremely well documented. You can choose your own opinion but you can’t choose your own facts.

I'm guessing you also agree with Hancock that they put a protective ring around care homes....

Some of those two swabs are often tested more than once and the government has been double, triple counting those too.

Yes but it’s still 177k tests done?
Its not tests done, that was established the last time the number suddenly jumped. That time it turned out they'd mailed home testing kits to thousands of Conservative party members and counted them with no idea if they'd even be returned.
The health secretary, Matt Hancock, has written to members of a Conservative Party email list inviting them to apply for a coronavirus test
And in any case the promise was number of people not number of tests. They haven't hit that once this month yet have promised to hit 200K a day next month.

Why are you lying? You know this was not the commitment

Sadiq Khan getting rinsed by Piers Morgan

At least he's had the bollocks to go on TV and try and explain himself though he's not doing a very good job.
No government minister for interview again
Fucking spineless, leaderless government is a shambles

We are in the middle of a pandemic, why would they want to get shut down by the twat piers Morgan halfway through answering a question
