It's annoying. We appeared to have solved our goalscoring problem and today we were back again to not creating enough chances.

We never appeared to solve our goal scoring problem buddy.
That will happen in January.
Until then we just need to stay in touch of the top three if possible.

Our forwards are just too weak (except for The Duck). McNulty is just embarrassing with how easy it is to knock him off the ball. He then throws himself to the ground in the ridiculous hope of gaining a free kick.

I remember seeing a TV program once about how unreliable eye-witness testimony is from witnesses to crimes.
It was quite eye-opening that different people were sure they saw completely different things.
It turns out eye-witness testimony is the most unreliable type of evidence there is.
This is obviously corroborated by the posts on this thread.

I was away today but when I saw 0-1. I was so angry. You should not win 3 nil at Luton then lose at home.
I have to question the players attitude and the managers ability to capitalize on the manner in which we won previously at Luton ..

And that's why we should state things as opinion and not fact. Grendel take note. :)

Nice to see after a loss the bickering starts again
It all gets a bit hyper doesn't it.

I am not too disheartened by yesterday's result. First 15 mins we were great and should have been ahead. Had we done so I think it would have been a quite different game. Ponticelli should have scored from that early chance, but hit the ball too close to the keeper and you have to remember we were only beaten by a shot from distance.

Biggest concern for me is that when Jones does nothing we seem to do nothing. As has been said many a time, we need a threat from both wings.

I'm confident though that we can get a positive result away at Lincoln next week.

We had started scoring. 3 at Luton, 3 against Maidenhead and 2 against West Brom.

3 at Luton.....
1 good goal by Mcnulty. ( a rare event)
An exceptional free kick from Shipley who will hardly feature this season.
And a lucky deflection from the Duck.

Sorry matey I only judge it by the league matches as oppose to U23’s and non league opposition.
Luton is a rare event that won’t be repeated often.
We need to draw and win the odd game 1-0.
Hope Ponti can poach some goals, try and stay in touching distance.
Then get a striker in January.
Then win consistently.

That is a fact. What you are also massively influenced by your unconscious bias as well.
For example if you don’t like Burge then he should have done better with the goal.
If you don’t think Haynes can defend then he gave someone too much time.
If you think Biamou is crap then his header was poor as oppose to the defender did well ect ect.

Really? He seemed the only one trying to hold it up and lay it off or so something. He managed to get that shot off in the first half for example.

The guy on the phone in summed it up we defend as a team and attack as four, quite often we have six back, I still don't think at home you can play sideways Kelly he doesn't have enough drive.

I thought McNulty played quite well yesterday. Not as prevalent in the second half, but then of course none of the players imposed themselves much after half time.

Again if Biamou is the answer you’ve asked the wrong question. He’s never going to be good enough. He doesn’t work defenders he has little physical impact - oh and he’s still not scored one league goal.

He's a squad player. He did well yesterday when he came on. Couple of really good flick on's but Ponticelli wasn't on the same page. No-one is suggesting he is the most talented player in the world but he's doing a decent job when he comes on. He doesn't look out of place at this level though admittedly, like every one of our strikers, needs to improve when it comes to putting the ball in the net.

Why all the negativity?
According to a few on here we're due to give someone a hammering
Then say they told us so

I think we will at some point. We are a good team and we'll catch someone on an off day at some point.

First game since Notts County and First time I have seen Ponticelli, I think he has a good first touch and close control to be fair perhaps should have scored late on and did get the ball in the net but flagged off-side. Overall though unless our manager changes tact which I doubt his obsession with basically 7 defenders at home we’ll struggle to win Home games because our set up invites teams to come at us through the middle. We don’t/won’t shoot and rely on little one twos or crosses to our only forward which inevitably get gobbled up by opposition centre halves. Going back to Ponticelli he needs a partner next to him to take the weight off him and help him get space in front of goal, as I see it that means linking him up with the Duck or transferring somebody in at xmas and a significant change of tact from Robins, I sharnt be holding my breathe on that one, our manager is negative and probably illustrates why he doesn’t last too long at his various clubs.

Here is two facts

1 you are clueless about football

2 you don’t attend football matches (well not Coventry ones anyway)

Yep...the game I saw was enjoyable and entertaining to watch. Thought we dominated the game and didn't deserve the result. It's true some players weren't firing, but hey it happens, particularly if we build up our expectations about people like Jones! Vincenti should start every game in my opinion, and McNulty has been unlucky...a very hard worker. I'm not going to single anyone out for criticism or praise, but for me the team performance was obvious and we were unlucky on the day, losing to a long range speculative shot that caught Burge on his back foot. That's how I saw it!!!

Then you didn't watch the same game as me. Just my opinion.

We dominated the game for the first 10-15 minutes, then we got dominated.

As for Burge, although their goal was a good strike which Haynes should have closed down instead of backing off which invited a shot on second look on TV I think Burge could have done better. Other than that he kept well overall.

Robins will be gone after Xmas is my prediction. This is utter shit to watch and I’m bored out of my tiny skull week in week out watching this. It’s not good enough and unacceptable. Vincenti playing will get him the sack!

So disappointed in Robins as thought he was better than this but is becoming similar to Pressleys stay here.

I don’t think he’ll be sacked, not by our current chairman or owners anyhow, should that change then maybe. He doesn’t need to be sacked just look at how he’s setting up his team and change.
Why do managers see things differently and persist with failing systems of play ?

We stoppes dominating after 15 mins but no way i am having it said that we were dominated after

Game was 60/40 in our favour imo
Yeah, I don't think 'dominated' is the right word. They simply had more threat and stretched our defence, but when we had the ball they were much more compact.

We didn't really hurt Mansfield after the initial stages.
To be fair they didn't hurt us but when they scored they had been on top for a while.
We never really laid a glove on their goalie.
