Other than Germany we have handled as well as any other major western industrial country.
So why do you constantly try to disagree with me? Or you just want change of what got Labour into power last time and stay on the very left? Because that is what it sounds like.Of course people want change - the last thing they want is for the Labour Party to go back to being an iteration of the Tories. I hope Starmer will deliver and he will get my support until it’s evident he won’t do what he pledged.
Helpful?
(Sorry, can't keep up!)
Sir Keir Starmer did more on anti-Semitism in 'four days' than Jeremy Corbyn, claim Jewish leaders
I do think Corbyn got a very tough, and unfair deal from many, especially on a personal level.Corbyn was tbe Andy Thorn of politics. He’d have been sacked from any normal business years ago
As you know, that’s not what he asked you- but in fairness you are something of a lone voice and you took a hell of a beating yesterday, so ok.

Had enough. Going to bed for an hour or so.
You just said you keep skating Labour as well as the Tories. But you haven't.Who’s in charge right now? What do Labour have to do with it?
I kind of give up on you at this point, you don’t make sense.
But you never agree with me even when you agree with what I say...... You always word it in a different way.I very rarely disagree with you if you actually look. Challenge, tweak, adapt, suggest but rarely disagree.
You just said you keep skating Labour as well as the Tories. But you haven't.
Oddly enough you shouldn't either. But to make a comment like that........
I do think Corbyn got a very tough, and unfair deal from many, especially on a personal level.
Unfortunately it's probably fair to say he's an excellent, hard working constituency MP, but not a natural leader.
I think you are doing the popular/gutter press a disservice there to be honest. It’s no coincidenceJust add it to the list
Windrush
Grenfell
Universal Credit
COVID19
but they know how to win elections so that has to say something about the opposition as well, not sure it should be that difficult to evict people that inflict death & suffering on their own people from number 10
I was hardly on here yesterday and I’m happy to take a beating from a minority who will scream and whine once again I’m 5 years time and find more excuses why their brand of politics is as palatable to the majority as a plate of cold sick
I think you are doing the popular/gutter press a disservice there to be honest. It’s no coincidence
that Labours only election victories in the last 40 years ‘are also the only elections they had the
Backing of the Sun newspaper.
You’re not perfect mate :happy:But you never agree with me even when you agree with what I say...... You always word it in a different way.
Catastrophic record on foreign affairs... yeah I forgot he was way wrong with his Iraq war call...Corbyn was for many a lunatic fringe man of the 80’s who sided with very unpleasant people and has a catastrophic record regarding foreign affairs. He should have been sacked years ago
Whichever day, they all feel the same. They are unelectable which is a massive indictment when you look at what the Conservatives have presided over- I don’t know enough about Starmer to say either way whether he’s gonna make any difference.
I do think Corbyn got a very tough, and unfair deal from many, especially on a personal level.

Let’s play yes or noCatastrophic record on foreign affairs... yeah I forgot he was way wrong with his Iraq war call...
One person ?Well one person says that. My point about Ireland is it’s a very different country to England. It’s more similar to Sweden and is running at the same death rate per population despite a very different approach
I think there are a lot of Mps who get promoted due to great work in constituencies but aren't up to ministerial/shadow ministerial posts.
Promoted a level too far happens to individuals in many companies and professions.
Yes he didLet’s play yes or no
Did Corbyn get arrested Ian for protesting on behalf of Patrick Magee the brighton bomber - yes or no?
The most hilarious interview of that tired leadership campaign was when the 3 leadership candidates were asked who was the best labour leader
They couldn’t name one. It was hilarious as they were frightened of upsetting one of the fringes
The answer is Blair - even if they’d wheeled Blair out in the last election he’d have been more popular than that sad useless Corbyn - he couldn’t even run a chip shop
yes- I have to qualify my statements on this stuff as I am comparatively politically ignorant, but I agree with you. Blair has been demonised (and I’m not getting involved in the rights and wrongs) but he was better & more effective than Corbyn and everyone since could ever hope to be. That I’m sure is going to elicit howls of dissent but it’s a fact.
But we had big geographical and timescale advantages over them didn’t we ?Other than Germany we have handled as well as any other major western industrial country.

It does. I often get baffled at how being good at one job automatically makes someone suited to be a manager.I think there are a lot of Mps who get promoted due to great work in constituencies but aren't up to ministerial/shadow ministerial posts.

Atlee by a country mile. You can’t compare NMW and Sure Start to the founding of the NHS and welfare state.
Blair second, but very few of his changes lasted more than one term after he’d gone. Whereas it’s still political poison to try and remove the NHS.
So Would Johnson, you know his track record.Corbyn was tbe Andy Thorn of politics. He’d have been sacked from any normal business years ago
Many thought Corbyn was a good leader.....And many still think the same way.
The Labour Party rot began with Blair as soon as everyone realised he was just a Red Tory....
In the sense of how ‘mainstream’ leadership is defined then yes you are right.
I’ve repeated numerous times on here she’s a midwife over the last 5 years.
I wasn’t actually trying to make out she was on the frontline either, nor did I say she was, I feel worried about her enough as it is.
Nah, the rot began with trying to force high immigration down British people’s throats culminating in Browns “bigoted woman” gaff. The expenses scandal solidified us as “all the same”.
That’s when Labour started losing its base and we can’t win without them.
The final nail in the coffin has been try e weaponisation of conspiracy theory by the right and the gaming of social media algorithms. Before we used to agree there was an issue but disagree how to solve it, now the right disagrees there’s even an issue.
So Would Johnson, you know his track record.
But we had big geographical and timescale advantages over them didn’t we ?
And we are still going to record worse numbers than them.
